We are rightly very proud of our kippers and also of the many awards, accolades and endorsements which we have received for our smoked produce. We received the prestigious ‘Les Routiers’ Award for the North East Food Shop of the Year in 2002. We were also nominated for the ‘Local Food Hero’ Awards for the last 3 years and reached the final 5 contenders for the Northern Region in 2008.

Our kippers are recommended in many Good Food Guides for their superior taste and flavour and people travel from all over Britain and from abroad to buy our traditionally hand-prepared oak-smoked kippers.

Members of the Royal Family have also been known to enjoy our kippers and HRH the Princess Anne has written to Barry and Derek telling them how much she enjoys their kippers
